Mary Margaret and Josh’s Classic Wedding

From the Bride and Groom :: Josh and I both grew up in small towns in south Alabama, but knew when we got engaged that we wanted to get married in Birmingham, where we met and fell in love. It was very important to us that our guests felt welcomed, and were able to experience the love and happiness that Josh and I share for each other at our wedding ceremony and reception.

We are so glad that we decided to celebrate Holy Communion during our ceremony. Our faith as a couple is very important to us, so this was something that we wanted to share with our guests. It was even more special because my aunt and uncle, and our Coupled in Christ Class leaders helped serve Communion.

My wedding gown was new, but I was able to wear my mother’s wedding veil with small pearl beading and my grandmother’s blonde mink coat. Josh helped with my something blue…he has a blue handkerchief that he wore the night we met and the night that he proposed, so he suggested that I wear it on our wedding day. I had part of it monogrammed with my new name and sewn in my dress. I loved all of these accessories and details!!

The best surprise of our wedding day was the gift that I received from Josh. He commissioned a painting of our Church by an artist in New Orleans, who we had purchased a painting from the weekend we got engaged.

Josh and I believe that our wedding day could not have been more perfect!  Our vendors, Alene (planner), Holly (Invitations/paper), Carol (flowers), Laura (cakes), Brandon and Stacey (pictures), Catherine (seamstress), Laura (makeup), Cherie (hair), and Chae (caterer) went above and beyond to make our day all that we had hoped for! We appreciate all of their hard work. We had an unforgettable time celebrating our marriage with our closest family and friends!!
